Yesterday, Evan was officially 3 month old! I can't believe how time has flown by! Evan must be going through a growth spurt because he napped all morning after having slept for 9 hours the night before. But, when he was finally bright eyed and bushy tailed in the afternoon, he was nothing but smiles and coos!
Weighing 16 pounds now, Evan can almost roll from his back to his front. Its hilarious to watch him try so hard, panting and kicking as he tries to get over the 'hill' of his shoulder. He can sit up in his 'exercaucer' and grabs readily at colorful things he finds interesting. I love watching Evan entertain himself while in his pack 'n play...talking to the critters hanging above him and kicking like crazy...Mom and Dad are going to have one hell of a time chasing him around the farm once he's mobile!
We've been enjoying some awesome weather here in Des Moines the last few days. Lots of sunshine and very tolerable temperatures. JJ and I are working on improving the deck off of our bedroom with plants and, eventually, some patio furniture. Right now, I only have a few herbs and some potted plants, but I've got a stack of clay flower pots to paint and then plant with fun things. Evan loves playing outside and I'm looking forward to having a special outdoor space that's just for our family. JJ and I, admittedly, watch too much of the DIY channel with no outlet for our creative ideas (except for my parents master bathroom which we recently attacked with new fixtures and paint). So, it's nice having the deck as an area to make our own...makes me so excited for our own home someday!
